Ahmed Deedat. Ahmed Hoosen Deedat (1918-2005CE) founded the Islamic Propagation Centre International (IPCI). He developed the Comparative Religions Approach, using the Bible to attack Christianity in order to 'demonstrate the truth of Islam'. His approach can be described as "Apologetics through Polemics".

Deedat was born in India's Surat province in 1918. His father, a tailor, immigrated to South Africa soon after. In 1927, Deedat joined him in the city of Durban, on the east coast of SouthEnglish. Ahmed Deedat was born in the town of Tadkeshwar, Surat District, Gujarat, India in 1918. [3] His father had emigrated to South Africa shortly after the birth of Ahmed Deedat. At the age of 9, Deedat left India to join his father in what is now known as Kwazulu-Natal.
The late Deedat was awarded the King Faisal International Prize in 1986 for his 50 years of missionary work. His son Yousuf is a famous community activist and Muslim scholar in Durban.
